They Call Me
A book jacket designed for a hypothetical fiction story titled "They Call Me." The aim for the project was to create imagery and type using non-digital, physical materials. After a variety of experiments ranging from a taped fence to broken glass, the final designs for the front, back, and inside flap images were made using cut paper.
PROCESS
My preliminary thumbnails involved a variety of different concepts correlating to different story ideas. Ultimately, I pursued the direction of enclosing subjects within a circle to portray the main character’s feeling of helplessness dealing with his internal and external struggles.
